Brexit has destroyed this dream for thousands..........

Have a look at all the previous posts on here about visa requirements for UK passport holders. If you have an EU passport you can, but otherwise, if you just have a UK passport, you can probably forget it.

Since Brexit if you hold a UK passport you have next to no chance of job offers as any job has to be given to a Spanish or EU citizen first and to obtain the correct visa for working in Spain you would need to be sponsored by a prospective employer. You would need private medical insurance and proof that you can support yourself financially.

Hello Popeye,

If you are a UK passport holder and want to live in Benidorm permanently you need a visa from the Spanish consulate in London, Manchester or Edinburgh. You will need to meet the income and healthcare requirements.

If you  want to work anywhere in Spain you will need to secure a position first and then your prospective employer will need to apply for a work visa on your behalf.

All jobs in Spain must be offered to an EU citizen first.

If you want to retire to Spain then you can apply for a non lucrative visa. You will need to prove that you have an income of around €28,000 per annum and full private healthcare.
