If you are a UK passport holder your first call should be to the nearest Spanish Consulate for info on the required visas and if your qualifications are valid in Spain.

Be prepared to work a lot harder than you have in the UK for a lot less reward, working for a living in Spain is not what you may perceive.

Do plenty of homework for your proposed business as in Benidorm and local areas there are several plumbing/bathroom/kitchen/reform businesses.

As a previous poster has noted unless you hold a EU/EEA passport you must have a visa to set up a business in Spain. The following links may be helpful, however, it is always best to obtain expert advice in your circumstances:

Another couple of websites to look at are as follows:

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for bureaucratic stuff, and

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   This site is for English speaking people and is run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil.   It also has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.
