I am UK citizen and arrived in Spain July 7th. I signed a  rental contract August to October. I may need to extend said contract as I may have further difficulties returning to my home in Thailand at that time. How much more time can I stay here without applying for permanent residency.?

Thank you

Certainly don't listen to someone who is advising you to stay illegally.

OK....

No other option.. Like applying for residency so I can stay longer and complete or extend my current contract.?

Sorry.. I didn't ask for explicit advice as opposed to open question.. 🙏

Thanks.. . I appreciate the need to seek professional / legal advice in due course and thereafter consider my options.. 👍

Many thanks for this info / links and experience of said process....

I'm just awaiting response / approx costs from solicitor / health insurance company..

Should then have enough info to make an informed decision..

At this stage though.. . Looks like I have made a mistake in signing a 3 month contract..

Least stressful and cheapest option might be to seek / negotiate early contract release via landlord..

If that fails.. I will just have to  write off my rent losses and relocate to a non schengen country / ASIA on October 10th..

Thanks
