Has anyone recently collected a TIE card from Benidorm.  I have been trying without success to get an appointment, but there were none in all of Alicante province.  For example, trying every few minutes from 6.45am to after 10.  I know I need to select Benidorm TIE but nothing in all of Alicante province? I've heard that the system is being accessed by bots so us humans don't stand a chance?

Has your Lote number come up yet? There is a lote number allocated and you can see them under this site. Benidorm is currently at Lote number 2026/112. Once you reach that number you can apply for an appointment and, yes, it is National Police procedures for collection of TIE.

Again, we have had at least a dozen posts on this in the last couple of weeks at various stations and the only advice is to keep trying as appointment seem to pop up at random.

Alicante is always the best as once your Lote number comes up you just turn up to collect the card and no appointment is necessary. Benidorm doesn't seem to have the same system but they all suffer from a lack of appointments. Also checking and Torrevieja and Elche also don't require appointments to collect the card once the Lote number has come up.

(And it's not me putting that travel guide and Alicante guide up at the end of the post. It just appears even though I've tried to delete it a couple of times.) Travel& Transportation

Yes thanks Marcliff the current lot is 112 (at time of writing) as you say, and mine is 109, so we are ok there.  We applied in Benidorm so need to collect the card there.

(Alicante Guide also appeared at the end of my original post but I was able to delete it by editing the post after I had submitted it).

Despite repeated claims of it I've yet to see any evidence, let alone verifiable, that 'bot's' are stealing appointments, if anyone has such evidence please do share.

The plain truth is that the system is woefully under resourced and overloaded and that's all there is to it. The amnesty for some 500,000 undoucumented immigrants can only exacerbate the problem.

Only if you believe the Daily Mirror. Applications have numbered around 1.3 million and applications have closed. It doesn't mean 1.3 million will be granted temporary residence and the Parliament document still states 500,000 but latest government figures show it could be as many as 840,000.. Only if they have been living here for at least 5 months before December last year and have a clean police record from their home country. The majority are from S America and the Philippines with cultural or language ties to Spain and those from India and China who are already working in those nice restaurants and emporia we all use (estimates about 200,000 of those)

Plus agricultural workers from North Africa who are working here illegally at the moment. Last time the PP did similar the tax tax average 4,000 euro a year more than when they were working on the black.

Getting an appointment with the immigration service has been a PITA for the last few years. They employed a vast amount to deal with the Brits leaving the EU and exchanging old residency documents for the TIE so it would have been nice if they'd employed them again to deal with this third round of amnesties for those already here.

Putting it into perspective, UK has issued 500,000 family reunification visas to non productive family members over the period 2016 to 2021 and a further 100,000 from 2021 to 2024.  Even though the system has tightened up to up the financial requirements this year.

Not sure if Sanchez is just blowing in the wind or if he's correct when he says without immigrants tens of thousands of restaurants and schools would have to close.
