There's a lovely one at playa flamenca near to La Zenia boulevard. We take our dog there and she loves it.

Hi Shelagh, we also have a black lab, Abbie. She is coping with the heat really well, we take her to Guardamar Park or Parc of Nations in Torrevieja on a morning before it gets too hot. She has a dip in the pool to play fetch with her ball around 5pm, which helps her to cool off and also gives her some exercise. I hope you and Sacha are settling in well.
