We live in Benijofar and my daughter is coming to stay with us for 6 months, she has a job in the UK and will continue to work from here, does she have to do anything regarding legal obligations?

Any advice would be gratefully accepted

Thank you

Hi Shelagh,

Anyone intending to exceed 90 days in Spain should register as an Extranjero (foreigner) here, which is the same process as residency.  However, so long as your daughter doesn't exceed 182 days here this year (otherwise she would become tax resident in Spain by default) and she leaves before the end of the Brexit transition period on 31 December 2020(to ensure she doesn't get caught by post-Brexit Schengen travel rules), I can't think of anything else that would be a problem.  She will need to bring her EHIC, in case she has a medical emergency whilst she's here.

Kind regards,

Kim

Sorry, Shelagh, I didn't see Ray's post until after I'd posted mine.  Anyway, same information, different presentation 😉
