RELOCATING TO COSTA BLANCA

Hi first time user so hello everyone! For the last two years we have been planning to relocate to Costa Blanca full time from the UK and our dream will hopefully become a reality next year. We had pretty much settled on northern Costa Blanca as our preferred location, but surfing the internet has got us thinking that Benijofar could be a better bet. You seem to get a lot more for your money! Trouble is we have never visited that part of the Costa Blanca and we won't be back in Spain until January, so I am just seeking peoples views on the area - good and bad,

Welcome to the forum. It all depends on the environment you want to live in. I freely admit I'm biased - I've never lived in a town and the thought of living in a densely built-up area horrifies me.

If you stay away from the coastal area, then prices will be cheaper and you won't have the same seasonal fluctuating population.

If you do come out and look at Benijófar, I suggest you also look a few minutes further inland at Almoradí, which has all the amenities one needs.

We've just come back from visiting friends who live inland in the northern Costa Blanca. Their location is very scenic, but they've got quite a bit of travelling to do to find the major shops or a variety of restaurants. In the southern Costa Blanca, such amenities are only a few minutes away.

Jim is right. We looked in Northern CB, then chose Southern CB - better value. Benijofer is fine. We found it helped to come up with a list of requirements

- do you really intend to go to the beach very often .... being 10km inland saves lots of £££s

- urban, village, rural .... do you intend to have a car, as bus services here aren't great

- what services do you need to be close to ... social/bars/cafes etc, health centre, shopping etc

- flat, house, garden (with/without pool)
