Hello Emma, If you are intending to work, and you don’t mention whether your partner will be working, then you have further hoops to negotiate. You will need to apply for the type of visa which permits this, and would require evidence of employment contract; unless you intend to register as legally self-employed, which may also require evidence.
You will also need to provide evidence of income meeting requirements for residency, plus a year’s medical insurance for each member of your family, paid in full in advance. After the year you could apply to join the Valencian Convenio Especial insurance scheme, which is around 60 Eu per month pp.
Assuming you want to enter your children into the Spanish state system, I understand applications need to be well in advance, but cannot be more helpful regarding this. There are private international schools, but very costly.
As far as SEN is concerned, I have no idea of the system here, but would assume a first priority would be a command of Spanish and official recognition of your qualifications here.
