Hi I have a roof top solarium which has developed a leak into one of my bedrooms . I think it is probably down to the grouting in the tiles. Is a re grout of roof tiles expensive or should I  be looking  for a waterproof skim across the whole surface.

Thanks

Depends how handy you are of course, but a big bag of grouting cement costs about 10€.

I did my own recently and used Weber brand 'Junta Ancha Porcelanica', available from builders merchants.

You obviously need to get down on your hands and knees, clean out all dirt and loose material, then mix up a small tub of the cement to a thick porridge consistency (a large old yoghurt pot is good) and lay the wet material in the gaps that need filling. Try and do it when its cooler and not in direct sunlight, it should dry slowly. Maybe use an old knife to apply it, or your finger, wipe up excess at the sides of the seal with a damp cloth and bucket of water before it sets. It's not difficult, just a bit of graft.
