Hi,

My first post here.

I'm looking at travelling to Spain by car, through France, and wonder if anyone else is planning the same. I have downloaded the French pdf permission file for non EU countries but it's list of requirements doesn't cover travelling through France into other countries, unless I've missed something.

I have a house in rojales, but no residencia yet, and am stuck in UK. I sold my UK house in 2020 and have been renting whilst waiting for Spain to open up again. I read yesterday that the rules insisting on a residencia to travel to Spain have been relaxed and a padron or proof of purchase of house are enough to get you into spain. I assume my house deeds will satisfy this requirement.

If anyone else is considering travelling by car to Spain it would be useful to swap notes.

Hopefully the travelling restrictions will be removed this coming week and make it easier to travel.

Thanks Tony

When are you thinking of doing this ?

Travel out of the UK is currently banned.

Hi Kelvin,

I'm hoping to travel ASAP but am waiting for the result of Spain and the uk's covid meetings this coming week which I'm hoping will relax the current restrictions

Hi Tony, Spain hasn't changed the identification required for entry, that was a rumour that gathered internet legs.

So, Residencia or TIE, or proof of acceptance for it.

The situation may change soon, but currently you would be at risk of being turned back at a motorway checkpoint.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hi Trotter,

Yes, that's the link I read saying padron or house deeds would be ok.

I'm waiting for Johnston and Spanish pm's decision this week and hope we will see a relaxation if possible.

Not wishing to be negative, but anyone who thinks a Padron will be accepted as proof of residence is misguided.
