Hi Everyone, I’m looking for advice about obtaining a Tourist Licence for our property.   I have read the advice articles on here about the process and requirements, but I’m just enquiring if  anyone in the Benitachell area have applied for this Licence since 2018 when the new regulations became law?

Specifically how long does it take for  Benitachell Town Hall to inspect the property and issue a Certificate of Habitation. Also how long does the Alicante Tourism Office take to then issue a Tourism Licence.

Very grateful for any advice.  Liz

Your property should already have a certificate of habitation. What you need from the Town Hall is a Certificate of Compatibility to send with your License application. I am not in your area so unsure of Benitachell's current policy or time frame, but once you apply for the License itself it only takes a few weeks now to come back.

By the way, the requirement for all rentals to have a License became law in 2015, but Town Halls didn't get involved until summer 2018. Prior to 2015 the License was only required if you rented multiple properties.
