Hi,

I have an opportunity to live in Benitachell and I would love some advice, tips and comments  on what's it like to live there 12 month's of the year. Weather, things to do, good and bad things etc. I have a 10 year old and I'd like to know if it's good to bring children up there.

At the moment I live in Wales.

hello, and what attracts you to benitachell?

Firstly there is the bilingual situation, castiliano and valenciano,a little like Wales, and your son would grow up speaking both,if he goes to the local school. There is a large private school also in the village outskirts.

Plenty of supermarkets in the area,as well local market.

We now live here 2/3 months a year, was full time but we are old fogies.

We are told local school is good, and there is a very large private school in the area

Sandy beaches in Moraira and Javea, and good choice of supermarkets, including Lidl/Aldi

Given a choice now,we would have lived in Moraira-Tuelada next door  where there is a more open approach, but with same language duality,Spanish and the regional one of Valencian

The locality is convenient to the motorway system,75 mins to airport, and if Spain is your choice, not a bad location, and that is with the benefit of having lived in Costa del sol also.

Best of luck
