Hi, I would like to know of a local charity that presently helps people in distress because of the Corona Virus. I would expect the charity to be providing food and other forms of help were necessary.

That's a very nice thought. Many people are struggling to put food on the table at this difficult time.
Each Ayuntamiento, Town Hall, has a social services department that coordinates and prioritises assistance to people in difficulty. They usually have designated points where we can leave food or other support. The link to your local town hall website is below. Somewhere there should be a number or information which might help you.
