Does anyone know the laws regarding noise pollution from bars?

Busot has 2 bars which have live music on during the summer months from 9 pm until whenever they like. The sound levels are too high and Busot being situated in a valley doesn't help. We have no choice but to listen to drunks "singing kareoki" and anything besides. Thanks.

Hi,

That's not at all nice for the residents living near by. We have had problems like that in our area and mostly it is dealt with by the police. If called, they go round and check the licenses of the venues and mostly these places do not have the correct licenses. Then they get told the curfew times for music. No town hall will allow music licenses without a sensible 'turn off" time.  When the police are told in our area , and it can't be much different anywhere in Spain, the music is turned off immediately and the owners have to comply with the law to continue to play music (and then only if they have the correct license).

You do have a choice and it's to call the police or get together with your neighbours and complain to the police or even the Town Hall,  that is if you have a good town hall.

Hope this helps.
