Problems with having some work done

Hey all,

Just writing this to get others opinions on it but I am having an issue with a company that we hired to do some work on our pool, specifically to clean it but also to check the system out.

Of course in doing so the company has found numerous issues with the filter and pipes(all working fine 3 months ago) which whilst we questioned the need for it figured that the water here is extremely hard and 15 years without a service from the previous owners in the long run we may better off with new stuff anyway.

So anyway over 3 weeks have passed, they over that time have installed new fittings and what not and they started to put chemicals in the pool to clean it. Last week one of their guys was here to supposedly finish the job of cleaning the pool which is all we wanted from the beginning but he left it half empty and without finishing it muttering something else was broken and his boss will be there the next day. This was last week and we still have no contact from anyone although they have left some of the work tools here so I presume they plan on coming back but now the pool is getting dirtier and dirtier again.

So as it stands I am giving them to today to either come back and finish the job or at least contact me before I will contact them to ask what is going on.

What I would like to know is what is the best way to approach this, frankly all I want is the pool clean but I don't want them here for another week breaking things but still I'd take it just to get it done. I know how I would go about it elsewhere but wondering if there were any specific do's and don'ts in relation to Spain specifically.

Most certainly I will not be paying them for any work until the job is finished or they at least take their stuff away and be done with it and at that point I would ask for their hoja de reclamacion and not pay for the pool cleaning part of the bill. And while I am OK with paying for the work they have done I would like to withhold payment until I have another more reputable company come and check the work and see if what they have done was actually needed because as I said things appeared in working order before they showed up although they have removed the old filter unit from the property so that will never be able to be checked. Does this sound like something I can do or does the law prevent me from doing this?

Any ideas more than welcome.
