Hello Amanda, If you look on google maps, it shows two supermarkets in Busot (possibly not Tesco Extra!), a restaurant and a bar. It also shows bus services from Sant Josef Ermita V with the route C52 going down to El Campello on the coast and from there you can pick up the coastal tram to Alicante one way and Benidorm the other. It's quite isolated but not hopelessly so and I imagine not an awful lot of nightlife, if any. Do you know how you are getting there from the airport? Depending on your age and interests, if possible it may be an idea to cancel the accommodation and find something along the coast where everything is geared up for tourism.

Much of it depends on the location of the villa and how keen a walker you are.

If it is central to the village or in the post office area then there are options. Not so sure about the village itself but there are numerous places to eat and small shops but we rarely venture there.

Near the post office you have a choice of 3 bars that do food and a 4th one a short walk away next to the petrol station. They do seem busy enough and I guess it depends on your idea of entertainment but there is at least some choice. There is a small shop next to the post office where you can buy some food and drinks, you wont starve but choice is limited, possibly more choice in the village. Normally we shop out of town though in an actual supermarket. There is also a new place in Urb Los Patos called the Glass Bar/Los Cristales which looks nice enough and I think they have a quiz night on Wednesdays.

As far as sight seeing goes well there are the Caves de canelobre if you can get there and some nice walks in the area. The village is nice enough with some old buildings and museums of pottery and you can walk up to a nice viewing area of the surrounding areas.

It is quiet and not a lot to do but I'm sure you can keep yourself busy if you make an effort to. The bus service is limited though so you need to go by its timetable if you want to travel to the beach and come back via the bus.
