Sadly it seems par for the course, Banks here think they can treat customers badly and we will put up with it, agree with Kenbo.

What really showed the level of service was when they closed the branch on Cabo Roig strip and -when banks weren't opening-there was no one answering the phone and no sign in the branch window telling us what had happened and where our account was moved to.

Even worse the account details were changed and the Cashpoint card wouldn't then work!

On line services didn't answer anything and you had to find out yourself by going in to a branch-not a wonderful idea during a pandemic and not always possible-what was actually happening. For those who don't yet know it appears that the accounts have gone to the branch on the other side of the roundabout towards Torrevieja, just past the lighting shops.  Why a message wasn't just posted on line I do not know.

However there is a merger with another bank coming up soon so there will be more changes. Let's hope there isn't the same fiasco as when Bankia and, was it BMN?, came together. Took me 3 months to get my banking (card and being able to use the account) sorted out then. We certainly can't deal with the crowds that were in the branches every day then in today's circumstances.

Regrettably there seems to be total indifference to customer service and just decent behaviour towards the people who are keeping their jobs and business going.  From postings on the forum it does seem that this is  from various banks not limited to just one.

I am seriously considering closing my account now -will they care? I doubt it.

Yes I went through the BMN merger fiasco.

I had to take an unscheduled trip to Spain to sort my banking out, no one at Bankia gave a toss.

People are leaving in their droves for the newer online banks, Transferwise works great for me as a non res.

In my opinion the attitude of banking, insurance, health officers, real estate agents and also people working in tourism, hotels and bars is far below my expectations. They need an attitude change...Awareness of the fact that the customer shouldbe king and otherwise will talk with his feet. There is a economical and health crisis going on. Commercial and state business should show more custumore oroientation!

Rudeness,lumpness,slowness,desinterest everywhere.

Before I emigrated from The Netherlands I found there almost same attitude. Than i Went to south East Asia. Much more customer orientated attitude. More welcoming. Now i am back in Europe, after 20 years. Pffff...
