Had direct debit mandate set up with Suma And Wise May 2022. Confirmed by Wise

October bill missed and fine imposed for non payment. I was not in Spain at the time of demand

Had Advocate sort it out. New mandate given.

Hi Barry,

Thanks Barry, but when you set up a Direct Debit, you're giving your bank permission to make payments to organisations that request money you owe them.  So if you have confirmation from Wise that the DD was operational, it's SUMA's responsibility to request payment and, therefore, their fault if they did not.  Considering a fine was imposed, I wouldn't have taken this so easily.

As you can have many different currency accounts with Wise you have to make sure you give the correct IBAN number otherwise payment will be rejected.
