Hi I have explored all ways of getting UK tv here in Spain I have a dish but it is only small so only picks up German etc

I have pay as u go internet as it is only a holiday home so I don’t really want a monthly out lay for the speeds required for iptv and I don’t think putting a large dish is practical

I have heard if u buy a smart tv this will pick up certain channels I only need it  to keep up to date I am not an avid tv watcher

Any suggestions welcome

A smart-tv needs identical bandwith as iptv. I recommend to ask [email protected] for advice. They're in business for over 40 years.

A smart TV essentially means it can connect to the Internet but of itself that won't get you any UK TV unless you also invest in a VPN but then you'll need the speed and data allowance to do much useful with it.

If you buy a TV (in Spain) with a built in digital receiver that will tune to TDT which is the Spanish equivalent of Freeview in UK however there are no English channels on it so that doesn't solve the problem either.

You don't say how big your dish is but if it's 1. 4m or more then your best bet would be to have it aligned for Sky and attach a cheap basic Sky or Freesat box to it.

That way you're totally independent of anything except perhaps the weather when heavy rain might affect reception.

"off the top of my head, Astra 2D"

2D was ceased UK TV operations February 2012.

It is also not at the UK TV slot of 28 east, but currently at 5e, and not the uk tv slot at 28 east!

Current UK TV satellites are 2e, 2f and 2g.
