I'M thinking of coming to Costa Blanca by train because my partner can't fly and there are no coaches and no foot passengers allowed on ferries to Santander Bilbao till next March. Can anybody suggest the best train times to alleviate the hassle and the quickest routes and cheapest way to book and travel from London. All suggestions welcome!!

Try this website, it’s the French railway site.
Had a quick look and it seems it’s about 12 hours Paris to Alicante with a change in Barcelona so don’t think you could do it in a day departing from London but I might be wrong.
Many years ago there was a direct sleeper from Paris to Madrid but that might require a bit more research.

Thanks Shaun. I'll check it out. It seems some trains are a lot quicker than others and not all trains from Barcelona are direct. I'm also worried about train times with the current curfew in Paris and whether we're actually allowed to board trains after curfew hours.
On another matter are many bars still open along thr Cabo Roig strip and are they still closing at 1am? It's a bit depressing here with pubs and restaurants all closing at 10am with no drinking up time allowed which effectively means last orders in many pubs is around 9.15-9.30pm. It's worse than Sunday hours back in the 90s.
It's a pity my partner can't fly as return flights from London are currently around £22 and £8 OW to Alicante. The airlines must be running at a massive loss more so as the capacity has been heavily reduced to comply with covid safe laws.
