Hi, we're meant to be coming over 2nd August to the 18th. Are we mad to be thinking of coming over or is it ok and just isolated incidents of covid outbreaks.

We are due to fly this afternoon, I have no concerns being in Villamartin area but biggest headache if we were to come insurance is invalid !!

Pretty sure my insurance  is valid for refund booked Jan my son had to rebook in June as flights changed by Jet2 his revised airline purchased  insurance coming back with clause on Covid.

All booked on credit cards so hopefully get back cash off them

Waited overnight to but still no sign at 7-00 UK that Jet2 are cancelling so up to me

Oh what a mess

Hi. Can’t you just take out another insurance policy that has COVID cover? You can do it quickly online with Compare The Market?

Everyone is welcome as long as they adhere to the restrictions here in Spain, they are not optional extras, is is essential that they are observed to protect both those new to Spain and all of us who live here. Things are very different from what you may have experienced on previous visits, socia...

...l distancing, mandatory face masks, social life has changed with bars and restaurants having reduced capacity, some have closed permanently. Come and enjoy your holiday and stay safe.

Since originally posting my reply things have changed with the UK government introducing 14 days quarantine for people returning to the UK from Spain, a major spanner in the works for anyone thinking of taking a holiday, the warning is only essential travel should be considered.

As the FCO have today reinstated their advice not to travel to Spain, being able to get insurance becomes a moot point:

The original OP came on here wanting truthful and honest answers to alleviate his concerns so he could make his mind up whether to take a risk.

Your attitude is "Don't listen to them"

The OP is intelligent enough to filter out fake advice without you telling him how to conduct his life.

I say how it is if I'm asked for my opinion and don't sugar coat anything.

We also booked to come out 12-26Aug and said defo coming still as have huday home that not been out to since Nov19 but just listened to the Martin Lewis video and he said you will not be insured even while in Spain as advised not to travel as not essential so now not sure. Like Martin says you only have to have a fall, gk to hospital and not covered.

Moira it's so infuriating, when they brought the quarantine in last night we just cut our losses and changed our flights to next year, we booked Turkey  instead 🙈 for next month, so hopefully they're going to be alright.
