I think making it up as they go along is a bit of an extreme way of making that statement.  But yes - this is unprecedented - meaning it has never happened in most of our lives before - just because someone is an elected official doesn't magically give them the knowledge of how to deal with ...

...this situation.  Constantly criticising from your keyboard is unhelpful.

Few observations: firstly I don't think anyone following the changing rules/guidance/advice in UK could reasonably conclude other than it is inconsistent and often lacking coherence and logic thus suggesting they're making it up as they go along is not extreme.Secondly if something is unprecedented it has never happened before. Whilst Covid 19 is new, pandemics are not unprecedented. Finally, suggesting that I'm constantly criticising from my keyboard is itself extreme statement.....pot/ kettle?

Our experience in the short period we've been here is that the rules are followed day to day in pretty much all settings except some bars/ restaurants and perhaps in one or two shops we've been in.

We've not eaten out here or been in a bar but our local ones, perhaps like in the UK, are more lax with a little rule bending evident.

Some restaurants have plastic screens outside on the terrace separating tables others don't and their tables can be quite close together.

We came out here to live and I suppose we exercise as much common sense as we can alongside the rules laid down by the local government.

Personally I thought the air corridors would remain open for at least a month or so but our daughter who joined us for the first few weeks has been affected by Jet2 cancellation of her return flight. I've since booked her another going back a week earlier with Ryanair who I hope will continue flying until ordered not to.

I'd probably caution against coming out if you need the certainty of being able to get back, regardless of any quarantine policy which may or may not be in place at the time you plan to travel.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

In answer to you ( french martini )  the reason I have only 8 helpful votes and the movingon cretin has 1431 votes is that I have a very busy life split between S.Africa & Spain and do not have the time to TROLL through this very good forum. As you can see by the joining dates , I joined this forum in Dec 2015, long before you and the cretin movingon. So to conclude I have every right to dismiss movingon as the most negative abhorent contributor on this forum. I REST MY CASE.
