Will bar and restaurant owners get any help from the government .. whilst they are closed ...most where struggling before the outbreak....and will people have the confidence to mix with others when they do eventually open

Hi Monkey, that is two of the very big worrying  questions on many peoples minds.

Getting to grips with the virus has to be top job for the Authorities , that goes without saying , and they are attempting just that, but after the end of this month more detailed news needs announcing on the Spanish Economic recovery plan.

Agree. My (extended) family were successfully running their new bar 2019 & this "hit". Assured they will receive assistance, it will in no way cover (or recover) their hard work in starting their business. This applies to already existing businesses  of all sorts.

This obviously will need financial assistance (from the public). In addition, I think eg: bars/restaurants etc, will be some of the last to be included in any relaxation of lockdown.

I feel very sorry for these people.A lot of the places are owned by private landlords. Some paying as much as  1000 or 2000 e per month.i don't think the government will pay the landlord..THey may supplement some bills and taxes .But that won't be enough for some .already struggling places..And after a 2 to 3 month closure .or more. Then having to convince customers the coast is clear.could spell disaster for some .......hope your family come though this crisis villas

I hope you are right, however in Italy & Spain for eg, typically social gatherings may have exacerbated the inevitable transmissible virus. I think that those in authority will wait for allowing social interaction to be well down the road after firstly easing other normal working conditions.

Yes RayD, obviously "early" 7 days ago. All is speculative as to what relaxation is going to be discussed up until 25/26th & subsequent & beyond.

Madrid just voted for an extra 14 days after 26th April so well into May before it's even looked at again. Found the link somewhere but 10th May is the new date.
