You may be required to produce a PCR on arrival. Immigration no problem.

Jeff, Safe journey. Can you let us all know how you get on? What is it like going out, uk side and when you land in Spain? Any queues, any issues, anything to watch out for? It will help everyone else. Kind regards Gladys

Hi Jeff,

We are traveling to Santander by ferry on April 8th, also to complete a property purchase.

The covid test is essential and it must be negative no more than 72 hours before landing in Spain, and we were also asked to get written proof of why we were leaving the UK and why we wish to enter Spain.

I got my Spanish lawyer to send a letter on the company letter headed paper saying we had to attend an appointment with a Notary for a property purchase, the port authority said they will accept this.

Have a safe and trouble free journey.

Eddie.

Hi Eddie,

Just to make you aware as it stands property purchase is a valid reason to leave the UK, however its not a valid reason to enter Spain.

The port authority UK side will accept as its a valid reason for leaving the UK, Not to say the Spanish port authorities will accept when you land

If you are a Spanish Resident, you wont have any problems, otherwise i think you might struggle when you land.

I travel back and forth every couple of weeks for work reasons and i have seen so many people refused entry onto the flight and also held when landing in Spain. Turned back around on the next flight.

The only real reason outwith being a Spanish resident is for imperative family reasons, such as attending a funeral or visiting someone who is extremely unwell.

Wouldn't want you to travel and get stopped in Spain

All the best

Darren

Hello,

I have an Irish passport as it happens, I've recently also come into Spain via Dublin as it was the easiest flight route at the time.

Unfortunately my passport was not enough to allow entry. I had to show my TIE as proof of residency.

This was checked prior to boarding and again by the Spanish authorities on arrival. Prior to boarding on each of my last 4/5 flights this year i couldn't keep count of how many were refused boarding. Then the few on Spanish side who were pulled aside and refused entry

All the best

Darren

Hi Darren

Did you travel before the 30th of March I think since that date spain are now letting in EU citizens without recidency which I believe an irish passport gives you?

Cheers
