Hi All - I’ve seen some old post on here with regards to this topic but was just seeking an update from anyone who has travelled to Spain from the UK very recently. I know Spain is on the amber list but are there now any issues getting into Spain from the UK?

Also how easy is it to get a ‘fit to travel’ COVID test in Spain for the return flight to UK?

Any advice welcome.

R,

Tony

Hi Tony,

I flew into Murcia yesterday and had no problems at all. I just had to show the passenger locator form that I'd completed online. The whole thing was really simple. I've no idea about Alicante airport though.

Regards,

Sarah

Getting into Spain is easy. Just need to complete passenger health form. Coming back you need to evidence negative pre flight test and having booked day 2 and 8 tests back in the UK

Hi Tony

As stated, no need at present for a test to enter, and regarding the health form, visit spth.gob.es and complete the individual form and you will receive a QR code. This can be shown on your phone, but we print as we’ve been behind people fumbling through their phone looking for the right thing!

When you are ready to return to UK, currently an Antigen test is sufficient for entry and these are available at Imed Hospitals for 40€ with quick results.

For the day 2 and 8 day tests I can highly recommend a company called Testing For All found on gov.uk list. They were cheapest as they are a not for profit organisation. Total cost for my husband and I was £204 including tracked next day delivery with DPD.  You must pre-book as you need the booking ref to put on your passenger locator form for re-entering the uk.  Go online ahead of time and book for the day you fly home, they then despatch so you receive it the day after you land.

Good luck

Sharon

Many Thanks Sharon - was that cost of £204 the total cost for both of you for the day 2 and day 8 testing?

Tony

That's good news, thank you Tony. The first mention of ferry travel for some time. We have just had our confirmation advice from B.F.'s for our Plymouth to Santander ferry for next Weds. How was your onward drive down, any border checks or restrictions? Question is how do you get a QR code for arrival by ferry? The STHF only refers to flights and not ferries!

Thanks, Brian.

Hi Tony,

Regarding getting a Covid test for your return to the UK.

I was in Cabo Roig a few weeks ago and I used 'DAM Health' in La Regia  Orihuela | Dam Healthhttps://dam-health.es › orihuela, they are below the gym in that small commercial building.

You have to book a day/time slot online, I paid €99 for a PCR test. They were very good and professional. I got my test 2 days (has to be within max. 3 days) before I returned to Dublin. I was tested at 2pm, got my result by email at 11.30pm that night!  Be sure to bring your passport with you !

Hope that helps.

That's not much time for sure! If it were me, I'd book the (return) test online before you go to Spain. If you get tested in the morning of the day before you return to the UK you'll be fine
