Do you think that there will be a restriction on allowing UK tourists back into Spain this year even if the UK allow European travel?

None of our Spanish friends want tourists from other parts of Spain let alone international ones!

I think most of us would want that not just the Spanish - unless of course  they are our own nearest and dearest coz that's different init!

Regarding the French exception, no I don't know WTF that's about either, hard to believe it's because they love us so much.

Tourists from any country will be welcome in Spain if and only when it is safe to do so.

Many Brits have bought a property in Spain (myself included) so I can't see how they can stop us going to our own property, when it is safe to do so, of course.  They do rely on visitors for their economy.

The crucial part of your comment is "when it is safe to do so", the restrictions have needed to be strict but when the time is right they are gradually being eased and when the time is right people of all nationalities will be welcomed back in Spain, we look forward to that day, in the mean time stay safe.

thank  you, I know we have to be patient and I understand everyone in all countries need to be protected.  It was just all the news that we would need to have a good reason for going to Spain if we wanted to go in the future.  I am prepared to wait until everything is back to normal and safe again.

Hi Ray

i agree with much of what you say here. Well, most of it actually. If only you had not said “whose only affinity to the country is their holiday home”

I have a slightly different view. As others have, I have invested many 100’s of thousands of € in what you refer to as a holiday home. I think that shows a great commitment to Spain. I actually consider it my second home, not a holiday home. For reasons I don’t need to explain here, we are not able to commit to living in Spain full time; I wish we could. How much more commitment must I demonstrate? I pay all taxes as required, I contribute to the economy in my social spend, obey their laws and have the greatest respect for the Spanish and their country. I do not feel that I expect Spain to give me anything, only a warm welcome when I visit, as they always have 🤪🥂

RayD. I also found it strange that BoJo would apparently set different criteria for French citizens visiting the UK than other EU citizens. It was apparently a misunderstanding and it would apply to all EU citizens. However those businessmen who needed to pop across for an essential day or two would be allowed to do so from all EU countries. The EU also pointed out that it was illegal to select the countries whose citizens would be exempt. According the the EU courts when borders are open to one country they are open to all EU countries. So if Spain opens its borders to, say Germany, Portugal or northern European countries, it must open them to all EU members or none of them.

Hi Care4

Within the parameters of your post “it must open them to all EU members” would that include the U.K.🤪🥂

Kind regards
