We sold our apartment in Cabo Roig last  November this problem with the beach bars is recurring every year,  Spain needs to realise they depend on tourists money.

It's only in Oruela Costa that the bars are closed. We were out recently over the bank holiday and the beach was packed. Losing lots of money. Toilets are also closed.

We went to Playa Flamenca for lunch, no beach bars, the beach in a poor condition and have you seen the state of the coastal path railings, they are a disgrace, the uprights that hold the chrome rails in place are disintergrating, completly rusted through. Some rails have fallen out, it was beautiful but now with no maintenance whatsoever, every upright needs replacing. How much will that cost? I'm sure other sections will be the same. Someone could have a serious accident as the drop in some places to a long way down.

Orihuela Council are an utterly useless. The coast should separate from the City, where is all our money going?

Then they still haven't built the pedestrian bridge over the AP7, even though the Council hold the money from the bond, which was given to them by the court after the builder failed to build it.

I totally agree with you. The problem is that only residents can vote on the local elections, so every single vote counts. People also have to register to vote, by renewing their Padrón every 5 years. Independence for OC is the only solution. PLEASE, ALL THOSE THAT CAN VOTE, DO SO ON THE 28th May. PIOC (Partido Independent) will then get seats on the council. We can’t just give up and expect ‘them’ to solve everything! 😎

Every vote is needed for change otherwise it will be the same as its been for the past 20 years. Think of all the revenue the Council has from all the property that has been in the past 20 years, what are they doing with our money?

I think everyone with a home should be able to vote, resident or not, every home owner is paying so why shouldn't everyone with a property Suma bill not be able to vote locally. Non residents pay the same as a full time resident, even though for 6 months of the year we can't even use our property. They want our money, but we have no say on how the Council operates.

If you're full time please get out and vote as Sheila has said.
