Hi everyone.

I'll apoligise in advance as I'd say this question has been asked a thousand times - I'm new to the group and don't know where to look.

Anyhow myself and my partner have just purchased a two bed Apartment in Lomas de Cabo Roig (Playa Golf II). It has to be fully furnished (we have beds ordered but need everything else) Sofa, lockers, Chest of drawers - kettle/toaster, duvets etc - Any advise on where to start and where is best for certain stuff like dishes/kettles etc - we will probably have to get to Ikea for the bigger stuff.

Thanking you in advance for any help/tips you can provide and I'm sure i'll be back on with other questions...ps thanks Jan for the hugely informative website, keep browsing different forums.

****thanks a million for all the replies guys, you're all so helpful and lots of good ideas there ***

Well done on your new purchase I’m sure you will be happy. Best place to start would be Leroy Merlin in La Zenia Boulevard, for small items ie Kettles toasters and other electrical items I would recommend Al Campo Large supermarket also in La Zenia Boulevard hope this helps I’m sure other people on here will also offer good advice all the best Marcus.

If you are local....(& I don't know your area).. The local shops ( with certain exceptions) give good service, attention, delivery.. etc compared with (let's say😷...the larger outlets). And no quibbles after sale. V

Hiya  welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your recent purchase .

Lomas de Cabo Roig is a lovely area and with the new Commercial Centre opened last year added to the existing facilities Restaurants and bars, plus the Overseas Iceland / Waitrose store  you will be well catered for .

Plenty of local suppliers of household appliances. You could check out The Boulevard at nearby La Zenia. MediMarkt sited there are much like Curry's /Comet in The UK and have a very large stock of Tvs Hi Fi,  Kitchen Appliances and IT equipment.

Upstairs at the Boulevard you can find Conforama for furniture and again for household Appliances, but  if items not in stock in that store be aware that they are known to take a long time for order in items.

There is also Aldi and Lidl for smaller items.

If you travel over to Punta Prima you have Milar who stock lots of household electrical Appliances. Carrefour also do a small selection too.

I am sure others will add to this

Happy Shopping !

I too ( with my good friend welcome to the Peninsular). Good typical fare. Lidle, Aldi & of course Iceland ( when Les not in the queue!). Many local companies available for all white/soft goods etc. For food....

If not looking for Spanish outlets (like Aldi.......(no)...... Lidl.....no..... Carrefour......no French........ NO! go with Les. He´s off with Flybee to Reykjavík when Alicante´s  air-port´s stopped burning. KFC, burgerme & what´s the other Mediterranean memory......

"On a night out waiting in a queue in a "Spanish" chippy. A lad, Liverpudlian chaps, several places in front says
'Any chicken wings love?'........
'Yeah'
'Well fly over there and get me a can of coke'
"Many years ago and still makes me laugh when I think about it"

Villas, lovely to see you back on top form 👍

GRAOO, being new to the Forum, you must be wondering What the Hell all that was about, 😀, but ,trust me , even though  at first you may think he is Off his Trolley, Villas is a very friendly, helpful and much loved Forum member, although sometimes it is easier to work out Brexit than it is to work out what he is on about. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

On mention of Trollies, his joke reminded me of an episode many moons ago when I was staying in Wigan ,and planning to do some decorating. I was with She who must be obeyed, shopping in the local Tesco ,(other Supermarkets are available ! ).🙂

She, Bles her, remarked upon how messy a person I am when painting   so to take precautions , and to prevent World War 3 breaking out, I picked up one of those decorators  plastic dust sheets ,and approached one of the Sales Assistances ,asking if they had any Turps.

The very friendly local man replied " Eeeee alreeght luv,  wuld that beee Video Terrps or Cassette Terrps. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did say it was many moons ago. 😀
