Hi all, what's the best value supermarket in and around Cabo Roig, mainly for grocery shopping.

All the Spanish supermarkets are pretty much the same and have quality products, as is Aldi and Lidl, the exception is Overseas Supermarkets ( locally known as Iceland ) which stocks Iceland, Waitrose and other British Brands but at a more expensive price.

Hi Rob, as John says, and I can add that the Alcanpo Supermarket at La Zenia Boulevard is by far the largest with lots of choice in all departments.

I find alcampo supermarket is good value because of the larger ranges.. you have more to choose from, and likely to co your shop in one go.. but all are similar in value.

Generally, if you buy home produced goods by that I mean Spanish your bill will be cheaper than buying imported goods, for your fruit and veg try the market on Thursdays. Lucies do lovely cakes and bread their croissants are gorgeous lovely and buttery.

I shop at Mercadona, who I think have a good choice at reasonable prices.

We've only used Europa as it's nearly beside us, but with having a car for part of the holiday we want to explore more and different supermarkets are on our list.

There is a Mercadona, just up from the Zenia roundabout where Paddies Point bar and Consum is, if you just go past Paddies Point then Consum which is on the left, go straight up and Mercadona and Lidl is at the next big island on the right, there is also  Sports shop, linen shop and a huge Pets World shop.

Europa fine for odd items but madness to do full shop there as expensive.  Came across a magazine review on this and Al Campo and Lidl/Aldi came out top for quality and price!
