Hiya ..brought a new build about 18 month's ago and looking to sell it to release equity and buy another place here ..does anyone know what the score is reference capital gains tax .I am not a resident but am.going to apply for residence out here

Hello Ralph, have you had the property valued yet? I only ask because new-builds carry a premium and re-sale price just 18 months later may not give much of a profit anyway, so 19 % of not very much, possibly.
I also think that there are delays for Residency applications for Brits.

Ralph, bear in mind that UK residents are liable to CGT in the UK on their worldwide gains so, depending on your own UK tax situation, there may be more to pay after allowing for any double taxation relief available.
