Hi Read Recently on the Forum  you can keep Photo copies of Documents in the car as long as they are signed by a Notary.this seems better than driving around with originals, the thought of having them stolen or lost and replacing would be a nightmare in Spain. Anyone know approximate cost and Notary close to Cabo Roig/playa Flemenca.

Thanks

Ray.

Nobody is going to break into a car just to steal its documents and if the car itself gets  nicked chances are you'll never see it again so who cares if the documents go with it.

If it really worries you that much then hide the originals in the car somewhere but put some plain photocopies in the glove box where they'll be easily found, a would be thief will think he's out of luck and move on.

I wonder how many Spanish fret about such nonsense?

Worrying about car documents being stolen is what's ridiculous, I wrote nothing but the truth.

Your choice though, sleep tight.

Some people plan for problems then have answers others walk around with their heads stuck up their backsides.then when it goes wrong their world falls apart.and pass it on to someone else .goodbye.

Hi, I wondered about this myself. I was told that you take the originals and copies to the Guadia and they stamp them, Then you can leave these in the car.

There is a public notaries office facing the n332 in Playa Flamenca. Looking from the n332 it is to the left of the Ayumiente building. It’s in the same building as the Suma office. You can get the original documents photocopied then notarized and stamped these are then left in the car.If you are in any doubt check out the Guardia Civil N332 site. Hope this helps
