Martin Hammond, who was Johnson's housemaster and taught him classics, spotted early and wrote to Stanley Johnson:

“Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility [and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”

These comments have made me laugh out loud, very much amused by them , and totally agree with them.

Thank you for bringing some humour into our lives

Always easy to criticise, when would you like to pick up the keys to number 10 and take over?

True enough, reminds me of the saying; "those that can do and those that can't teach"

Sugarloaf it is a Democratic right in the UK to be able to criticise and hold to account our Elected Representatives .

Jeff22 made extremeley interesting observations on one of those Elected Representatives .

Hi sugarloaf,

I beg to differ, as it is not “always easy to criticise” as most often it involves checking facts and forming constructive debate through augmenting the points or actions that are being questioned.

However, Bojo and his mates do make the job of fustigating their action and decisions an easy task, which I do enjoy.

Now, if only I was the prime minister. There are those who do know me would dread that.

Best regards

Jeff

The one I like from the socialist George Bernard Shaw is "Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance".

This is very poignant given the false testimony of so many of the Cumming's witnesses - who have since admitted to doctoring their GPS software or making things up for a joke.

Thankfully those who can have ignored this fake news for what it is.

Lancelot, In his case witnesses were not required. He actually admitted fully what he had done , the only problem is he omitted to accept he had done wrong and broken the guidelines.

Hence the totally justified uproar of most of the General Public
