Hi, I'm wondering what's the most efficient way of heating my living area in winter....Would an infrared electric heater be a good option or is there an option of storing heat from solar panels?  Would appreciate peoples opinions on this.  Thank you.  Michael.

Hi we use the Aircon on heat to take the chill out of the air then use a Calor Gas fire in the living room, I don't like the noise of the Aircon.

Hi, I too have a place in Cabo Roig and also wonder why solar panels are not used in such a sunny area? If you do ever find a company that can give information on solar power, please could you pass it to me?

Many thanks

Well, electricity certainly is not the answer due to cost. My neighbour has a company distributing gas fires which are 100% efficient and look bloody lovely too. They certainly can kick out some heat and run on either natural gas (we have that in our area) or butane and are cheap as chips to run.

I went down the other route and had full gas C.H with a combi boiler - no regrets there and laughably small electricity bills!

It depends on your preference.

Hope this helps a bit

Presumably the 100% efficient gas fire is flueless. Make sure you have a sufficient ventilation as per manufacturers instruction, also the catalytic converters don't last as long as they should. Produce water vapour into the air and require the vent to burn properly. If not flueless then the max high efficiency fire is 85% with the remainder lost through the chimney.

Gas central heating the best way if you have natural gas otherwise expensive on butane. Solar only suitable for water heating or photovoltaic (electricity). Cannot provide heating by solar as yet.

The most popular is air con.

Why not go for gas or oil central heating, we have eight radiators and our own 1000 ltr tank. most people have it in UK why not here?

I suppose really the answer depends on your property. Do you havsxroom for an oil tank in the garden.

The best way would be air con. You then are able to use on hot if it's cold and cold if it's too hot. Far more flexible. I have ducted air con with automatic vents and thermostats in each room.
