Hi all,

Correos Express have a parcel for me and they continue to report on their website that they cannot find my home.

I rebooked through their website for delivery to the  Post Office in Playa Flamenca but 24hrs later, fail it, saying incorrect or incomplete address.

Im pulling my hair out.

I have the address of the post office below and am not sure if this is now correct or not -- nGoogle seems to think it is corerct?

Is their a Spanish speaker that can help me out and call them or rebook a delivery to their Post Office in Playa Flamence - please?

OFICINA CORREOS

SN EDIF FLORES PLAYA

Orquidea

 03189

Playa Flamenca

Alicante

I only get 1 more attempt at a redelivery then they return the parcel to the UK

Many thanks in advance

It looks as though the address should be:   Correos, Flores Playa, Calle de las Orquídeas, 22-26, Playa Flamenca, Orihuela Costa, 3189 Alicante Province, Spain.

As it's Correos Express, the parcel will probably need a signature on delivery, which is unlikely to be given by a post office.

All I can suggest is that you look at the vendor's website and see if they have any other delivery options.

I was away when Correos Express messaged me re delivery.  I contacted their customer care on their web site via email and received confirmation the next day they would hold my parcel for 21days.

Upon my return went to local Correos and collected parcel. Very straightforward. Excellent service. Admittedly was Mallorca but you should be able to do the same. Hope this helps

Thanks Christine

It's getting them to drop off at the local Correos that is problematic...

We will see🙂

From experience, inhabiting as we do, the deepest recesses of the unmapped campo, I was told by our local friendly Cartero in the post office that Correos Express are NOT permitted to just leave items at the post office and do require a signature. I eventually had to go to the local central depot some kilometres away to retrieve it.

Many thanks

Got to the bottom of it now.. but not helpful to me.

I visited the Correos depot in Alicante today as sick of the confusion.

They say that the database they use imports the data into a standard format from Dhl, Post Office, Hermes, TNT, etc...

The Correous database only uses the following fields :

Nombre... Surname First, Christian name , Last

Urbanisation... xxxxxx

numero xxxxxx

post code xxxxxxx

mobile number xxxxx

When they showed my order from UK Post Office all the data was scattered in the incorrect fields on the forwarding Correos order.

My name was the Post Code, address was the postal code, direction was the house number..,

i'm sure you get the picture....

I explained that when i order through Amazon (always delivered by Correos Express) i never have ANY problems and my prime orders are always at my house within 48hrs. She told me Amazon database is very good as the international Amazon sites convert their data to the Correos standard every time and always have back up, should there be a problem with a failed delivery.

Seems strange that when i don't use Amazon, Wish or Love Honey mail order, i encounter mail problems with Correos.

I sent random airmail to variants of my address, choosing to omit various address fields and they all got to me within 3 days.. i know that Correos and their Express arm are different entities.

Anyway, my parcel has been returned to UK as 3 attempts were made to deliver and that is their policy. Gutted!

Must concede, they couldn't have done enough for me today, totally transparent and they too wanted to understand the problem in finer detail.

We are all too quick to judge Spanish services but i am informed that 91.7% of all UK Mainland Parcels arrive successfully (Aug 2017-Aug 2018) and the Spanish Mail Industry Forum reports that 89.4% of theirs to Spanish domestic customers arrives without problems - so not a million miles apart as some think. A big thanks to Jose and Ian Gaskell at Parcel Watch.

No happy ending but a thorough understanding of the IT systems that Correos Express use and their vulnerabilities.

Thanks to all those that assisted me and offer to help with my parcel.

Jean, Robert and Francine - i have sent you all complimentary meals for 2 at my restaurants.

many thanks

Anna
