We are staying out towards Campoamor. Bit chilly in apartment in the evening. There is a fireplace in the lounge. Can anyone advise me of the best local place to get logs? An idea of cost would be handy also🙂

Hi Dave,

Unless you know that the chimney has been swept recently, I wouldn't recommend lighting a fire.  However, if it has been, there's a log yard near Torremendo lake: go past San Miguel and turn towards Torremendo (see attached map).  The good thing about this yard is that the wood is under cover, so shouldn't need drying out.

Hopefully, other members will be able to advise of one nearer to you.

Kind regards,

Kim

The Spanish word is "leña" fyi

Cheers

Petrol stations, Leroy merlin and Al Campo have bags. The wood yards are good if you require bulk supplies but not if you don't have storage.

Las Islas garden centre €8.95 a bag, but not great bits of pallet in there, nevertheless does the job.
