Sounds like that could be your car Suma, if you have a car? We’ve just had our direct debit taken for ours and October is property Suma. 

There are two payments made at this time of year. The IVTM or road tax and the basura which is the rubbish collection.

Some councils take the basura twice a year and others just once

This is the SUMA calendar for when municipal taxes are taken. If you pay basura twice yearly then the other from July to October is when the second amount is taken

I had an email a few weeks ago from Suma stating that 3 direct debits would leave my Wise account on May 2nd.

€106 for car tax, €34.80 for Basura and €8.10 for street maintenance, I only found out what these last two items were for by calling Suma from the UK, he said that this year for your area La Florida they have been separated from the main payment in September, I asked if the main payment would now reduce, he said no one knows this amount until nearer the time, I paid €131 last year.

I'm in Playa Flamenca and also had a DD taken yesterday - which is annoying as I had already paid via the suma.es website!

The story I heard is that in previous years the basura money was never actually passed on to the company that actually remove the rubbish, so now it's separate - but I've no idea if that's true!

Hi. At the beginning of May I always log into my account at the Suma agency to pay my car road tax. I'm not a big fan of DD. That's when I noticed 34.80 euro invoice attached to my account. This is for the removal of household rubbish. In my area, this was previously in with the water bill so you should notice a reduction of the same amount in your water bill.

That is exactly what happened to me! I noticed that the water bill was smaller but didn't put 2 and 2 together!

I'm not a fan of DD either, this is not the first time that I've had money debited with no prior notice!

I received an e-mail notification on the 28th March advising that my road tax, payable to the SUMA agency on behalf of my local town hall, would be collected on the 4th May.   The next amount to be collected by them on behalf of my local town hall will be the IBI (similar to the UK's rates bill) for my property which should be collected some time in September.

In your case it appears that your local town hall hasn't asked Suma to collect your charges for Basura and Canon Municipal ? These may still be on your water bill as the email made no mention of these charges ?

I will check mine as the basura was like you collected with the water bills.

I couldn't understand that and what has rubbish collection got to do with the water supply?

when there are issues with rubbish collection it was always put down to contracts with the Orihuela Council. They are hopeless as we all know in that area, especially on the coast!!!
