I have just got residency and have exchanged my UK drivers license (Spanish one due in about 6 weeks) I still own a car in the UK and need to renew my car insurance mid March. I’m still wanting to keep the car for when back in the UK. My car is only a little round around and not worth very much. Can anyone recommend a insurance company, as when I go on line for a quote it’s about £200 more without a UK licence.

If you are saying can I insure a uk registered car in the uk as a Spanish resident with a Spanish driving license.
You have no chance I have tried every insurance company and all web sites to do the same thing no one will do it.
You can insure it with a Spanish insurance company but you can only keep it out of Spain for up to 90 days.
If you do find a company to do it let me know please.
A car might be different than my motorhome.

I put our motorhome in my partners name but no insurance company would add me as named driver as a Spanish resident with a Spanish driving license, and it’s to big for her to drive.
