I contacted Mapfre as they insured my community. Good price and much cheaper than my bank.

I have house and car insurance  through Liberty Seguros phone Caren at Iberianinsurrance Villamartin very helpfully And proffesional fair price. End of the day you only find how good they are when you make a claim same as UK  really.

Hi. I am insured with Mapfre and have been for 3 years. Earlier this year I made a claim for a roof leak that I had. To cut a long story short they wriggled out of the claim with a clause in the policy that basically said that damage by rain was not covered. After a lot of dialogue I eventually caved in and gave up on the claim. Their customer service was shocking, unsimpathetic and uniterested in my problem. Needless to ssy I will be changing companies when the insurance becomes due. So my advise is if you go with Mapfre check the policy carefully before you sign. Also a quick search around the internet will tell you what a shocking reputation this company has. Hope this helps.

To DaveStewart

don't forget that you can't just cancel at renewal, find out what period of notice you have to give otherwise you are stuck for another year!

Hello,

Since January 1st 2016, spanish insurance law 20/2015 has established the cancellation period to latest one month before renewal. However, any policy documents issued before that date may still show the prior two month deadline.

The official way to cancel the insurance would be by burofax or registered letter with copy of policyholder's passport.

Saludos,

Alfonso - Gran Alacant Insurances
