Hi - we arrive at Cabo Roig for our first Winter on Monday and was just wondering if there were any people who meet up on occasions who could advise us etc as have lots to do - we do only speak English at the moment I’m afraid😞

Thank you

Cabo Roig, is similar to picking up an English County, or Irish and placing it in. The Costa Blanca, no need to worry about the language of the locals, as it ranges from English and Irish dialect.. 😉 😁 But lovely place... U will enjoy...

Congratulations on learning a new language  at 70 ,you must have been very single minded to achieve this ,I think back to my time at school when being taught French ,i think my brain must have been more open to knowledge at that time as  now remembering some Spanish words would be an achievement for me

Learning Spanish its not for the faint hearted

Unless you grew up in Spain in opinion

the only way to learn Spanish is to spend time with Spanish people

I met a retired spanish policeman at the Gym  jose helped me so much

from then I taught English to Spanish speaking people so I was improving my Spanish

whilst my Pupils were learning English

RuthAnn. I am also over 70 years old and use Duolingo. It is an internet based language teaching aid which you can study at your own pace.  It is free for basic Spanish but if you want to learn at a faster more concentrated pace you pay a fee. I can now converse quite freely in conversational Spanish, although it is quite difficult at my age to think in English, speak in Spanish, listen in Spanish and understand in English. As part of the course there is the opportunity to listen to Spanish broadcasts which will help your understanding. Hope this helps

I find a few people excel at languages, but like most I unfortunately don’t, and never will!
