Hi my name is nick, myself and my good lady sandra are seriously thinking about moving over next year.

But we would still have to work. I work in construction, a 360° excavator driver, and sandra is a housekeeper in hotels. What is the likelihood of finding work even part time.

Thanks Nick.

Presuming you are from the U.K. you will require work visas to enable you to work in the EU.

The visa will only be given if the employer cannot find a suitable candidate  from the EU.

You would need a firm offer from an employer here to apply for a working visa, and as Lynn has said, they would have to certify that there are no local people competent to fill the position. The alternative is to become fully and legally self employed, but you would still have to meet financial requirements, proof of income, and full private health care insurance paid for a year in advance. Sorry, don’t want to spoil your hopes, but that is the current situation.

To be honest Cabo Roig and surrounding area is retirees, and holiday home owners and not geared to earn a living in a stable profession, especially without speaking Spanish, Spain itself does not offer many career paths, as it struggles to employ its own people, sorry to sound negative but being a resident I can only reflect the job market as it stands in current times..
