Hi, we have sold our apartment in Torrevieja and are thinking about buying a house in Cabo Roig and would appreciate any advice, opinions or any other useful information about the area, thanks in advance!

Hi

Did you not visit Cabo Roig at all, when you had your property in Torrevieja? Cabo Roig is a five minute drive from Torrevieja, so I’m sur you never went to visit. Especially as it must have the largest concentration of Irish bars outside of Dublin.

Which area are you asking about - beachside, La Regia side or Lomas?

Lynn

Hi, I have been in Cabo Roig many times since 2004 when I bought my apartment in Torrevieja, I am not sure about the names of the different areas, I have heard some things about lomas de cabo Roig such as it is a bit out of the way and someone said it had a problem with foul smells, I just want advice and opinions.

I  have  been  looking  at   Coba Roig  and  Lomas  Coba  Roig,,Yes  Coba  Roig  is more  of Tourist  area, than Lomas, my view, Yes more  Pubs and Restaurants  I  would  think Coba  Roig is very  very busy July August,   Parking  a  nightmare  my  guess

My  plan  is to  live in  either,  I  am reaching  65,  not  a pub person

What  is  your  view on  Coba Roig,  and  what  advice   can give about  living  in  either area

The  ups  and  downs

Thanks in advance

Strangely enough whenever we’ve visited the strip we’ve never had any problem parking.

The strip is extremely quiet during the day all year round, most restaurants don’t open till late afternoon. Great atmosphere in the summer, when it’s really busy of an evening and they have the little fair and the night market  open. It’s just a shame you have to dodge the looky looky boys.

As busy and as touristy as the strip is, there’s nowhere for miles around that can beat the number and choice of restaurants as well as the free entertainment that’s on hand every evening.

Even if you choose La Regia you’re still within walking distance of the beach.

Thanks for your reply, I am familiar with the night life in Cabo Roig as I am a musician myself and in the past I have gigged there, I have also rented apartments there in the past, I want to be close to were things are happening but not in the middle of it, I am interested in things that are not always apparent, like flooding, I have seen the damage done in campoamar, I am sure there are other things I have not thought of, parking round the back of the strip has never been a problem, that's what I am thinking about.

We have a holiday apartment in Cabo Roig 4 years) beach side of 332 and love it’s location 10-15mins walk to both a great beach year round ( beach bar all year round) and same distance to the strip where you can get any type of meal you want and at good prices. The market is every Thursday and the pub quiz at Marina Sol on a Thursday is good also nice place to eat and drink

Hi Brendan.

I  have had offer  accepted  on Property  in  Lomas Coba Roig   Lomas  Coba Roig  will  be a  lot  quieter  than Coba Roig, But  it got  an  Overseas  supermarket  with  A  Super Value ( Irish  Supermarket)  corner, a  few  Restaurants   and 2  pubs  ,  In  winter   it will  be quite, But you will get  More Property  for your money,   but  a  Car  is essential

Just waiting  for a few figures  on a bit of  work  , before  I  proceed

Have a  decide  on any  area yet

Move beachside,  far nicer. No major flooding problems during previous heavy rain. Only real issue is car parking during August as its very busy.

Hi, opposite the strip, opposite    bushwaker pub, on the other side of the motorway. There is a water /sewage treatment  plant and it sometimes or often smells very bad as I walk by.  We are in amapolis 10 minutes walk from cabo roig strip, but cannot get the smell there. Hope this helps. If buying I would choose beach side of the motorway if possible. Cheers bev
