Hi Everyone

I am looking at the Stone Carpet adverts in the papers to maybe have my small front patio area and my balcony covered instead of tiles.

What I would like to know if anyone has had this done & the name of the company but most of all are YOU HAPPY with the result?

Also how long have you had the work done?

Appreciate all your feedback

Thanks in advance

Gil

Hi Plaxman,

We had ours done about 3 years ago and were very pleased with the results, especially around our pool, as it's totally non-slip.  However, it hasn't worn well where we have furniture on it - I'd recommend using foot coasters where furniture legs are being moved across the stone, although that's not very convenient.  We had a very large area done, but in hindsight, I wish we'd confined it to only the pool surround.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hello Kim,

can you remember roughly the price per M2 you paid for your stone carpet flooring? I too am looking into having it around the pool.

Thanks

Chris.

Hi Chris,

Apologies for the delay in replying, as we had our stone carpet done in 2017, I had to find the invoice!

We weren't quoted by the sq m, but we paid a total of Eu 2,550 (Eu 500 deposit, balance on completion of work).  My guestimate of the area we had done is around 100 sq m, but as I said before, in hindsight, I would have contained the stone carpet to only the area around the pool where there is no furniture.  Its non-slip properties are fantastic, but it doesn't wear as well as we'd hoped if you're frequently moving furniture across it.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hello Kim,

Thanks for the reply, this seems quite a reasonable price and furniture marks shouldnt be a problem as it will be just around the pool and not really any room for furniture.

If its not to much trouble could you PM me some contact details of whoever did this for you and I can call them to come and give a quote?

Thanks for your time!

Chris.

Hi Chris,

If you're on Facebook, you can search for J&N Stone Carpet (Jose and Nicu) - they're in Torrevieja.

By the way, I forgot to say before, when we had our main bathroom refitted, instead of a shower tray, Jose put a stone carpet in for us and we're really pleased with it - in areas subject to a lot of water, stone carpets really come into their own.

Kind regards,

Kim

Be careful if you decide on stone resin carpet which company you use …unfortunately I am unable to name and shame who we used due to legal reasons but believe me it’s been our biggest regret since owning our Spanish property 7 years ago. Due to the installers not laying the resin with the correct flow to the drain as we had prior with tiles we now suffer large pools of standing water after rainfall which

creates bad leaks to our bathroom below our solarium ! Absolute nightmare …getting nowhere with the company although they issued us a 10 year guarantee ( May as well have been a copy of the sun newspaper) …we are now having the whole area tiled by a professional who actually knows what he’s doing !

Costly mistake and very stressful situation so as I say be careful who you use …

Hi B6 and welcome to the forum,

Are you able yet to recommend the company that's doing the remedial work to your store carpet please?

Kind regards,

Kim
