Can anyone recommend the best places to buy laminate flooring please as well as recommending a good laminate flooring fitter. We’re in the process of buying a property and would like to replace the flooring.

Leroy's do have a fitting service. A Spanish friend of ours got all of his house done a few months ago, and I watched the fitter doing some of it. The only thing I noticed is that, unlike the UK where they lay laminate flooring on foam, the fitter was just laying it on a waterproof plastic membrane.

It's an excellent job, and looks very good. Several months on, there are no signs of any gaps appearing, and in a house with three dogs and several cats, no scratches appearing either. The only thing I'm unsure about is the white plastic skirting used to cover the expansion gaps at the edges.

For most of their laminate flooring products, Leroy offer ‘skirtings’ in similar colours to the floor. Some of the more expensive ranges actually have ‘matching’, but the general purpose ones are adequate for most situations.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I will certainly have a look in Leroy Merlin and get a quote for laying flooring.

If anyone else has recommendations, please keep them coming.
