Hi,
I am looking to come over to rent long term once the lockdown is over.
I have a NIE as I worked in Mallorca for 3 years on a full Spanish contract, I have now lost all of my paper work and I am keen to get my NIE document prior to coming over to Spain.

There isn't a defined procedure for obtaining a replacement NIE, but people have done this by going to a national police station and asking nicely.
As you're in the UK, I suggest you ask the Spanish consulate if they'd be able to do this for you.

Thank you, I am currently going down this route by obtaining the contributions I made during my time working under contract in Mallorca.
Once I have this it will detail my NIE number and you are correct I had to quote my passport number at the time of working to help to locate my details.

Do you have your old passport number to hand that you can quote as if so private message me and I will give you the email address that will investigate your contributions to the Spanish goverment for free, this then gives you your NIE number.
