NIE applications/Police Station (Local)

Need to apply for NIE numbers for my we and my wife for future property purchase. Have downloaded and completed the EX15 forms, but looking to avoid the £150pp legal fee from UK Consulate and hopefully make application in person towards the end of this year.

Can anyone who has been through process please help and let us know;

Where is the closest police station to Cabo Roig that does this work?

Do we need to make an appointment for this NIE work?

Do you need to pay a translator/agent?

What additional paperwork required in addition to passports and EX15?

I think you can apply for N.I.E at Spanish consulates in the UK for a cost of roughly £10.00 each, or are you looking at residency? I am sure others will know, good luck stay healthy and safe.

Have received email from Spainish consulate in Liverpool. They are quoting £150pp for work to transfer to Spanish Police for approval. Just wondering if some one has done it and what is needed/charge in person in Cabo area police Station??

Our NIE cost = 70 Euro for 2 people, done through solicitors last October, we were not in attendance, solicitors done allfor us.

Don't use Liverpool whatever you do. Use London or Edinburgh - much easier than doing it in Spain.

Jim,

Have made enquiries via Edinburgh and must be present, which at this time is not possible.

Yes, have avoided Liverpool who forwarded my request to a Spanish referral lawyers firm that wanted £150pp.

Now have a Torrevieja law company details that do the same without the necessity of us being there, for 70 euros for the pair of us

That sounds like a reasonable price, John, and glad you got sorted.

It might be helpful to others if you post details of who is doing it for you (Uma?).

Hello Jim, what is the achule price of a N.I.E, as said in my previous post, is it around the £10.00 mark, as I am sure its what I have read in the past, Thanks again Jim for all your informative post.
