During my course of trying to find a translator to help me get my residencia, I was told yesterday that due to the "Brexit" the Police are now telling us that our State Pension has to be paid direct into your Spanish bank account ??? since moving here in early Oct, I have left mine being paid into my UK bank account which according to GOV/UK you can do, this is not leaving me at the mercy of bad exchange rates due to Brexit, can anybody help on this matter please, thanks Rob.

Every alien without income in Spain must produce proof of sufficient means to cover cost of living. For this year the amount is EUR 10.302,60 p.a. Any excess can and should be left on a safe side.

The law states that you have to prove sufficient income or assets, and doesn't stipulate that this has to be in Spain. Unfortunately this is another instance where the various offices apply their own interpretation of the law, and there's no way to contest this - all you could do is try applying at a different office.
