We have recently purchased an apartment just for the family.not for letting.we know we have to pay a non residency Tax but friends have said the amount is based on what you have in your bank account so keep your balance to a minimum enough to pay bills,is this correct.

Thanks for taking the time to put us on the right track, That's a lot clearer now. We did instruct our Solicitor to deal with this which she will.it was being told what your bank balance was which was confusing us.once again thanks for you time.

Regards

Ray.

Make sure your Solicitor does deal with it as Spanish Solicitors cannot always be relied to do so. Alternatively, there are plenty of offices that will doe the work on your behalf for a relatively small fee. If you have just bought your property the first payment will not be due until December 2018 as it is paid in arrears, for example if you bought in March 2017 then you will pay for the period March 2017 to December 2017 in December 2018.
