Hello All,

My wife and I will finalise buying a property in Cabo Roig in early December 2021 for 120,000 Euros.

How much will the SUMA/IBI be and when will it need paying?

Thanks in advance

Nck

When all is finalised, a Suma receipt should be attached to/with your copy of property deeds to show payment was made by the previous owner/s for 2021, around August to November 2022 you will be responsible for making this Suma payment, this payment re direct debit from a bank should/may have been set up by your solicitor handling your property purchase, nearer to the time check with your bank that a direct debit has been set up, if not go to your local Suma office and ask for a direct debit payment slip and take it to your bank. There may be one additional payment for rubbish collection earlier in the year, so ask your solicitor if this direct debit has also been set up. Hopefully your solicitor has set up other direct debits re electric, water and community fees, if appointed to do so. As said check with your bank what direct debits have been set up for you.

Hi Nick.

Building on Peter's good advice, consider setting up a presence on the SUMA portal - you will be able to see all of your tax related bills there...car etc. We print them off and then pay at the ATMs (very good here with the bar code scanners) and set up a DD for the following year(s).

Welcome to Spain ;-)

Best regards,

D&J

Hi Nick

We have a 2 bed bungalow, our IBI is about 150 euros per year. Normally paid in July.

Cheers

SUMA is based on plot size, not house value.

Our plot is 1070 square metres. SUMA is around 820 Eros/year

Wow Kelvin, that seems to be quite a bit, guess the area / district comes into play. We pay about the same for 18,210 square metres / 4.5 acres inland.
