I bought an apartment last year and the solicitors set up direct debits for all bills. I've just become aware that my Iberdrola bill includes insurance for kitchen electrical appliances up to 11 years old. All our appliances are older than this so the insurance is useless. Is insurance automatically applied by Iberdrola? I can't see any mention of it in the original contract.  Is there a tariff advantage by having insurance? Does anyone have any experience of this. I'd be grateful for your advice. Thanks. M

It's just something they add on without asking. Just call them and they will remove it, no point paying for something you can't use. It makes no difference to your tariff.
