Hiya

Anybody know someone in the area who can hook our Canon printer to the internet for us.

It just keeps saying printer not found. Our printer is from the UK.

Kind regards

Chris

Have you tried holding the wps button down on your WiFi hub for 3 seconds, it may then detect your pc?

If necessary, uninstall the printer from your computer and reinstall it.

In addition to the above and if your printer is close to your router, maybe run a cat5 cable between the 2? That would also provide for faster comms.

I'm sure you mean connect to your WiFi or router not 'the internet' but have you followed the procedures in the manual, these days this sort of stuff should be very simple and basic. It being from UK is completely irrelevant to anything.

Which operating system are you using and what is the printer model.

Are you certain that the printer is compatible with your OS, it can often be the case that new printers are not compatible with older systems - say like Windoze 7 - or older ones with Windoze 10, best to establish that first and defnitely before getting somebody in!

More questions than answers at this stage I'm afraid.

Hiya

Thank you for your response.

We have just moved to Callosa de Segura from the UK.

We have the Red Fibra router and our printer is a Canon MG3600. The router is in the living room and the printer is in the downstairs bedroom. Is this too far away?

We have followed the instructions as on the internet but after trying the instructions and holding the WPS for a few seconds the blue light still flashes and the green light is solid.

We not brilliant with technology but usually get there in the end but have now tried this numerous times.

Very frustrating. We need to print documents to send back to UK.

Any other recommendations would be welcomed.

Kind regards

Chris

It may be worth buying a small plug in WiFi range extender, about 20 or 30 euros. Not usually any need for the highly expensive wired in versions which the shop may try to sell you; the plug in ones can go into any suitable socket and extend the range reliably.

Our router is downstairs, we have an extender on the landing for the bedrooms and I simply unplug it and take it down to the underbuild where the main PC is when necessary.

Hi not sure if you have fixed this.  But check your wifi settings for public or private set.  On private it might not see the printer.  Theres a warning at this stage.
